The Colorado office, located in Boulder, opened in late 1993, and since then it has performed consulting assignments for more than 2,500 hotels in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.

The 20-person staff in Boulder offers expertise not only in hotels, but also in hospitality technology solutions, ski resorts, and interval ownership developments. Several associates are fluent in Spanish for assignments in Mexico or other Latin-American countries. The Consulting & Valuation Services division also specializes in analyses and valuations of portfolios for debt securitization and public/private offerings. Portfolio assignments range from five to 200 properties.

The Boulder office received recognition for its feasibility work from the hotel business publication, Bloomberg. A columnist for Bloomberg.com wrote: "The HVS report may set the new standard for solid feasibility studies attached to bond issues; such is its comprehensiveness and tone. Serious projects beget serious feasibility studies."
