Assignment: December 2003 - March 2005
Establish a sales and marketing initiative in the United States. And
increase corporate, travel agency and consumer awareness and business
from the US market to the 18 hotels that Boscolo owned in Italy, France
and the Czech Republic. The following was accomplished to achieve their
goals:
- Developed a marketing plan and sales action calendar that included creating preferred travel agency programs, advisory board familiarization programs, incentive meeting planner programs and trade show participation throughout the U.S.
- Opened sales office in New York City and called upon key travel agencies, wholesalers and corporations that had business in the cities their hotels were located.
- Conducted sales calls from New York in the following cities:
- Chicago
- Dallas
- Los Angeles
- San Francisco
- Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, Florida
- Hired PR firm; hosted events introducing Boscolo owners to key decision makers from top luxury travel agencies from New York City and travel writers from top luxury travel publications
- Conducted site inspections with incentive planners to Rome and Prague where Boscolo owned 5 Star luxury hotels.
These efforts resulted in Boscolo increasing their GDS production from the U.S. market by 20%.
